San Miguel de Allende sits at an altitude of 6,435 feet above sea level. Located in Central Mexico it is easily reached from Mexico City, 171 miles away, or the nearby León Airport which is 1 hour and 30 minutes from the hotel or Queretaro Airport just 1 hour from the hotel.A few blocks from the cathedral and main city square, the boutique hotel of Casa de Sierra Nevada is a mixture of 16th to 18th century Spanish colonial buildings.
Rooms & Suites
The hotel has 37 deluxe rooms and suites, distributed among four mansions and the Casa del Parque, a few minutes walk away. The design of the accommodations follows the original architecture and so no two rooms are identical in size and amenities. Each of the rooms and suites has its own individual décor but they all celebrate the spirit of San Miguel. They are characterized by the furnishings, art and antiques, exquisite fabrics, and richly colored Talavera-tiled bathrooms, that add a touch of charm.
Many rooms have working fireplaces (some have two), others boast private terraces with outstanding views of San Miguel and some have both fireplace and terrace. Some of the rooms face onto the courtyards and gardens, while others have balconies and beautiful views of the city.
Six accommodations are in the Casa Principal, where the Sierra Nevada Restaurant is located and eight accommodations are in Casa Limón, which also houses the pool, meeting room and library.Seven accommodations are located in Casa de la Fuente as well as in Casa Caballo, and five are in Casa del Parque, which features an outstanding Mexican restaurant under its colonnades. The Parque building, which is the most recent addition to the Sierra Nevada collection, is located a few blocks away on Benito Juarez Park.
Dining
The Casa de Sierra Nevada';s restaurant Andanza is at the top of hotel dining establishments in Mexico, and the culinary choices on offer are as exceptional as the hotel itself.Guests may opt to dine in the privacy of their room or terrace.
